{"id":4211,"date":"2011-03-07T16:31:27","date_gmt":"2011-03-07T21:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=4211"},"modified":"2011-03-07T16:31:27","modified_gmt":"2011-03-07T21:31:27","slug":"ex-ny-giants-star-burress-to-leave-prison-in-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=4211","title":{"rendered":"Ex-NY Giants Star Burress To Leave Prison In June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEW YORK \u2014 Former New York Giants Super Bowl star <strong>Plaxico Burress<\/strong> is to get out of prison in June, after officials agreed Friday to shave about three months off his time behind bars in a gun case.<\/p>\n<p>A committee of prison-system staffers decided <strong>Burress<\/strong> was eligible for time off for good behavior, so he can be freed after serving about 21 months of his two-year sentence, system spokeswoman<strong> Linda Foglia<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong>Burress\u2019<\/strong> release date now set for June 6, his agent and lawyer said he\u2019s looking to return to football \u2014 and a number of teams are looking at him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s counting the hours,\u201d lawyer <strong>Peter M. Frankel<\/strong> said. \u201cHe\u2019s extremely positive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NFL Commissioner <strong>Roger Goodell<\/strong> has ruled that <strong>Burress<\/strong> would be reinstated and eligible to sign with a team upon completing his sentence.
