{"id":4134,"date":"2011-03-03T16:02:16","date_gmt":"2011-03-03T21:02:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=4134"},"modified":"2011-03-03T16:10:15","modified_gmt":"2011-03-03T21:10:15","slug":"former-%e2%80%98teacher-of-the-year%e2%80%99-suspended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=4134","title":{"rendered":"Former \u2018Teacher Of The Year\u2019 Sus- pended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jacquelyn Chaney-Wilson<\/strong> has spent much of her career at the new Blake High School.\u00a0 In fact, alumni and current students say they can\u2019t remember a time she wasn\u2019t there.\u00a0 Teachers at Blake thought enough of<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chaney-Wilson<\/strong> to select her \u2018Teacher of the Year\u2019 in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why it\u2019s so hard for students and parents at Blake to understand why <strong>Chaney-Wilson<\/strong> was abruptly removed from the classroom in late January, with little to no explanation from school administrators.<\/p>\n<p>They turned to the<strong><em> Florida Sentinel<\/em><\/strong> to get answers.<\/p>\n<p>Blake\u2019s Principal, <strong>Jacqueline Haynes<\/strong> said she could not address the matter without first getting permission from the Hillsborough County School District.<\/p>\n<p>Hillsborough County Schools\u2019 spokesman <strong>Stephen Hegarty<\/strong> confirmed <strong>Chaney-Wilson<\/strong> had been suspended.<\/p>\n<p>He responded, \u201cWe\u2019re looking into something.\u00a0 We\u2019re doing an internal investigation, which may not result in any further investigation.
