{"id":3870,"date":"2011-02-24T14:53:28","date_gmt":"2011-02-24T19:53:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=3870"},"modified":"2011-02-24T14:53:28","modified_gmt":"2011-02-24T19:53:28","slug":"judge-eases-restraining-order-against-chris-brown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=3870","title":{"rendered":"Judge Eases Restraining Order Against Chris Brown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES &#8212; <strong>Chris Brown<\/strong> doesn\u2019t have to stay away from <strong>Rihanna<\/strong> anymore after a judge on Tuesday downgraded a restraining order in the singer\u2019s felony assault case.<\/p>\n<p>Superior Court <strong>Judge Patricia Schnegg\u2019s<\/strong> ruling came after an attorney for <strong>Rihanna<\/strong> said she didn\u2019t object to removing the stay-away provisions. The old order required <strong>Brown<\/strong> to stay 50 yards away from <strong>Rihanna<\/strong>, but the restriction was reduced to 10 yards if they were at a music-industry event.<\/p>\n<p>The judge said she never would have considered relaxing the order without <strong>Rihanna\u2019s<\/strong> consent and until <strong>Brown<\/strong> completed domestic violence counseling. Prosecutors did not object to the change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schnegg<\/strong> praised <strong>Brown<\/strong>, who was in the court Tuesday and left holding a one-page copy of the new order.<\/p>\n<p>The new order remains in effect until August 2014 when <strong>Brown\u2019s<\/strong> probation is scheduled to end.<\/p>\n<p>He and <strong>Rihanna<\/strong>, 23, can now see and speak to each other. But if <strong>Brown<\/strong> harasses, threatens, assaults, or tracks his ex-girlfriend\u2019s movements, he could be found to be in violation of his probation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rihanna<\/strong>, whose real name is <strong>Robyn Fenty<\/strong>, can record any threatening conversations with <strong>Brown<\/strong> and present them as evidence to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Her attorney, <strong>Donald Etra<\/strong>, said he thought the new order was adequate protection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOS ANGELES &#8212; Chris Brown doesn\u2019t have to stay away from Rihanna anymore after a judge on Tuesday downgraded a restraining order in the singer\u2019s felony assault case.
