A 26-year-old man was arrested early Monday and charged with attempted murder. He allegedly struck one woman with his vehicle and attempted to strike another.<\/p>\n
According to police, Ms. Tiara Jelks,<\/strong> 21, was at her residence in the 5600 block of Williams Grant Way, when she heard a vehicle approach. She told police an acquaintance, Devin Scriven,<\/strong> was in the vehicle.<\/p>\n Ms. Jelks<\/strong> walked outside and told Scriven <\/strong>he needed to leave. However, Scriven <\/strong>is alleged to have revved the motor of his vehicle and attempted to strike Ms. Jelks<\/strong> with it, but she jumped out of the way, police said.<\/p>\n Scriven<\/strong> is alleged to have remained outside and a few minutes later, Ms. Jelks\u2019<\/strong> mother, Ms. Debra Jelks, <\/strong>reportedly went outside and asked him to leave and they reportedly exchanged words.<\/p>\n Scriven<\/strong> is accused of again revving the motor of the [private]vehicle and is alleged to have struck Ms. Debra Jelks<\/strong> with it. He is also accused of then jumping out of his vehicle and jumped on Ms. Debra Jelks.<\/strong> At that point, her daughter came out of the house with a crowbar and Scriven<\/strong> fled the scene, police said.<\/p>\n The women contacted police and Scriven<\/strong> was arrested in 11600 block of Grove Lane. He was charged with attempted premeditated murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and battery. He is being held at the Hillsborough County Jail without bond.
