The Tampa Bay Buccaneers exposed their lack of depth Friday night in their 25-21 preseason loss to the New England Patriots.<\/p>\n
With starters Carl Nicks<\/b> and David Joseph<\/b> missing from the offensive line, and newly acquired cornerback, Darrelle Revis<\/b> missing from the defense.<\/p>\n
Depth on the offensive line and defensive back was badly exposed.<\/p>\n
Ted Larsen<\/b> was in for Nicks<\/b>, and Mike Remmers<\/b> was in for Joseph<\/b>. The result was quarterback Josh Freeman<\/b> being sacked on three of his six drop backs. He never got the opportunity to develop any kind of momentum on offense.<\/p>\n
Freeman\u2019s<\/b> counterpart, Tom Brady<\/b>, went 8-for-8 on his first drive that ended with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Danny Amendola<\/b>, and a 2-point conversion.<\/p>\n
Freeman<\/b> completed a 4-yard pass to tight end Tom Crabtree<\/b>, and running back Mike James<\/b> ran 11 yards to give the Bucs a first down. But Freeman<\/b> was sacked twice in the next three plays.<\/p>\n
The Bucs had a scare on the first play of the second drive when running back Doug Martin<\/b> went down after taking a knee to the head. He\u2019s expected to recover.<\/p>\n
The Bucs also lost cornerback Anthony Gaitor<\/b> to a hip injury, and receiver Tiquan Underwood<\/b> to a knee injury.<\/p>\n
