After Rachel Jeantel\u2018s<\/b> primetime appearance as a witness in the killing of her friend, Trayvon Martin<\/b>, the 19-year-old says the experience has inspired her to pursue a law career.<\/p>\n
Jeantel <\/b>spoke exclusively to The Rickey Smiley Morning Show<\/em> last week when she spoke about how the George Zimmerman <\/b>trial affected her. She said the not guilty verdict truly surprised her.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd after the verdict justice did not serve,\u201d Jeantel <\/b>said. \u201cUm, I worked so hard and so focused to this case and this happened and I was upset, so. It\u2019s what it is. So I got to still keep fighting for justice for Trayvon<\/b>.\u201d<\/p>\n She also said Trayvon<\/b> was nothing like the young thug many in the conservative media made him out to be. \u201cHe was a family guy,\u201d Jeantel<\/b> said. \u201cA family guy. Smiley <\/b>told Jeantel <\/b>that he would pay for her books during her first semester of college.<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t have Tom Joyner<\/b> money, but we\u2019ll get them books for you though,\u201d he said.
