They are both facing a maximum of ten years in federal prison.<\/p>\n<p>According to court documents, <strong>Jakiel Bazart, <\/strong>27, and <strong>Ms.<\/strong> <strong>Denetria Barnes, <\/strong>24, entered guilty pleas on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2012, the Tampa Police Department executed a narcotics-related search warrant at a Tampa residence. During the search, police recovered stolen documents being used to file fraudulent federal income tax returns.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation into the stolen documents ultimately led law enforcement to <strong>Ms. Barnes <\/strong>and <strong>Bazart,<\/strong> who reportedly had been selling the names, dates of birth, and social security numbers of patients.<\/p>\n<p>Working undercover, law enforcement was able to purchase HIPPA records from both <strong>Ms. Barnes<\/strong> and <strong>Bazart. <\/strong>On April 3, <strong>Bazart <\/strong>allegedly offered to sell (15) fifteen pages of personal information for $1,500. He also said that he had a \u201ctrash barrel\u201d filled with patients information, police said.<\/p>\n<p>On May 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, <strong>Ms. Barnes<\/strong> attempted to sell a spreadsheet containing approximately 400 names and information for $15,000. One column on the spreadsheet included the home address of the patients, police said. Both <strong>Ms. Barnes<\/strong> and <strong>Bazart <\/strong>were taken into federal custody on May 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>No sentencing date has been set for the pair.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two Tampa residents entered guilty pleas on charges of conspiring to defraud the government and wrongfully disclosing patient information.
