{"id":21947,"date":"2013-06-18T09:42:12","date_gmt":"2013-06-18T13:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=21947"},"modified":"2013-06-18T09:42:12","modified_gmt":"2013-06-18T13:42:12","slug":"ex-nfl-star-chad-johnson-being-released-from-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=21947","title":{"rendered":"Ex-NFL Star Chad Johnson Being Released From Jail"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. \u2014 A contrite <strong>Chad Johnson<\/strong> apologized Monday for disrespecting a judge when the former NFL star slapped his attorney on the backside in court last week, and his immediate release from jail was ordered.<\/p>\n<p>Broward County Circuit <strong>Judge Kathleen McHugh<\/strong> accepted <strong>Johnson\u2019s<\/strong> apology and cut his 30-day jail term for a probation violation to the seven days he had already served since the rear-swatting incident.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Johnson<\/strong>, a flamboyant wide receiver formerly known as<strong> Chad Ochocinco<\/strong>, said in court that he\u2019d had time to think about why his flippant attitude was wrong \u2014 especially in a domestic violence case. \u201cI just wanted to apologize for disrespecting the court last time,\u201d said <strong>Johnson<\/strong>, wearing a tan jail jumpsuit with his hands shackled at the waist. \u201cI apologize.
