Tampa Police Homicide detectives are searching for a man they believe gunned down another man after the two argued Sunday.<\/p>\n
Police said Edward Howard, Jr.,<\/strong> 21, and David Irvin<\/strong>, 18, were at 13th<\/sup> Street and East Yukon in Sulphur Springs when they got into an argument that escalated into a physical altercation.<\/p>\n Police said Irvin<\/strong> shot Howard<\/strong> after the confrontation. Howard<\/strong> was pronounced dead at the scene, and Irvin<\/strong> fled.<\/p>\n A warrant has been issued for Irvin\u2019s<\/strong> arrest on a charge of murder.<\/p>\n Howard<\/strong> celebrated his 21st<\/sup> birthday Saturday.<\/p>\n According to Howard\u2019s<\/strong> mother, Dollie Foster, Edward<\/strong> had gone to a cousin\u2019s graduation a couple of days before his birthday, and they all had a great time.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was so excited about his birthday coming up. He wanted to go back to school and start his own music company.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t see him on his birthday, but he did call ad said he was getting a ride to come over. He never got the chance.\u201d<\/p>\n Ms. Foster<\/strong> said her son was with a close friend who was celebrating his birthday the same day.<\/p>\n \u201cHe spent the night at his friend\u2019s house, and something happened over there.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat we were told is that a gang boys tried to beat him up, and he got the best of them. He had walked to a store, and was on his way back when he noticed two cars following him. Inside the car was one of the guys he had fought. At Yukon and 13th<\/sup>, they caught up with him, and the guy got out of the car and shot him. We don\u2019t know the boy who shot him, and had never seen him before.\u201d<\/p>\n Howard<\/strong>, known to family members as \u201cJizzel,\u201d<\/strong> was the youngest of four children. He didn\u2019t have any children of his own, and his mother said, he never got the chance to start a family.<\/p>\n \u201cJizzel<\/strong> loved rapping and making everyone laugh. He was the clown of the family.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was born in Central Park Village, but grew up in Sulphur Springs, and had a lot of friends there.\u201d<\/p>\n The family has requested assistance with funeral expenses for Edward Howard, Jr.,<\/strong> and ask that you call (813) 239-1889 for donations.<\/p>\n The family is planning for a service this Saturday, followed by a \u201cGoing Away\u201d block party.<\/p>\n \u201cWe want everyone to celebrate the time Jizzel <\/strong>spent with us, instead of being sad that he\u2019s gone,\u201d said Ms. Foster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s why we decided to have a celebration instead of a traditional funeral.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Tampa Police Homicide detectives are searching for a man they believe gunned down another man after the two argued Sunday.
