CREWS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sentinel Staff Writer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>City of Tampa Economic Development Administrator, <strong>Bob McDonaugh<\/strong>, said the 22<sup>nd<\/sup> Street Enhancement Project is on schedule to be completed by September, and there have been no setbacks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be some interruptions of service at Lake Avenue and 22nd Street for the installation of a traffic light.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Enhancement Project started almost 3 years ago, and has disrupted business along the 22<sup>nd<\/sup> Street corridor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Councilman Frank Reddick\u2019s <\/strong>office has been contacted by the owners of the cleaners and hair salon who have complained about the project and how their businesses have been disrupted.<\/p>\n<p>At issue with the hair salon is access to the parking area for their customers. As part of the enhancement project, the plan was to install a concrete apron along the perimeter of the salon, and the owner has asked that it be made wider so that vehicles will be able to enter and safely back out of the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>The cleaners have requested that no changes be made in their present entry and exit points.<\/p>\n<p>Contractors have offered a solution to the hair salon that they can either leave return the entrance to its original form, or configure it to park four vehicles and not back out into the street.<\/p>\n<p>The solutions they\u2019ve offered the cleaners is to leave as it, encourage the owner to change their one-way drive to pedestrian only, or encourage the owner to designate a accessible space and striped access to the front door from the rear parking lot.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BY LEON B.
