{"id":21758,"date":"2013-06-06T15:41:51","date_gmt":"2013-06-06T19:41:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=21758"},"modified":"2013-06-06T15:42:49","modified_gmt":"2013-06-06T19:42:49","slug":"houston-police-chief-chad-holley-beating-sickening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=21758","title":{"rendered":"Houston Police Chief: Chad Holley Beating Sickening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HOUSTON, TX\u00a0 \u2014 Houston\u2019s police chief told jurors on Tuesday that the 2010 videotaped beating of a black teen burglary suspect made him \u201csick to my stomach\u201d and gave the police department a \u201cblack eye.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Police Chief Charles McClelland Jr.<\/strong> testified that fired officer <strong>Drew Ryser<\/strong> \u2014 one of four officers who were indicted in the case \u2014 mistreated the teen during his arrest and failed to follow proper procedures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryser<\/strong>, 32, is on trial this week on a misdemeanor charge of official oppression.
