A New jersey woman filed a federal discrimination lawsuit against CVS Tuesday (April 16), claiming one of its employees wrote a racial slur on her receipt. Describing herself as \u201cadult ethnic Korean,\u201d the woman was \u201cmortified\u201d by the treatment.<\/p>\n
Hyun Jin Lee<\/strong>\u00a0went to pick up photos from a CVS in February, and\u00a0was \u201cshocked, stunned, mortified, humiliated, and severely distressed\u201d to see that she was called \u201cChing Chong Lee\u201c on the receipt. In an email sent in to the company, an outraged Lee <\/strong>wrote \u201cWhy doesn\u2019t he just call me Chink!\u201d The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court.<\/p>\n According to the document, the term \u201cChig Chong\u201d is a \u201cpejorative\u201d slur used to \u201cmock people of Chinese ancestry,\u201d or those mistaken as such.
