An FBI agent recently spent time at Rutgers and visited with now-former athletic director, <strong>Tim Pernett<\/strong>i. <strong>Pernetti<\/strong> resigned from his post on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is in its early stages, according to the report. According to a letter, <strong>Murdock<\/strong> \u2014 the program\u2019s former director of player development \u2014 sought $950,000 from the university last December to settle his claims of wrongful termination. Rutgers declined to renew <strong>Murdock\u2019<\/strong>s contract last June, reportedly after a falling-out between <strong>Murdock <\/strong>and former head coach <strong>Mike Rice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Murdock <\/strong>claimed he was fired for being a whistleblower about <strong>Rice\u2019s<\/strong> physical and verbal abuse of players. The letter, dated Dec. 27, 2012, and sent from <strong>Barry Kozyra <\/strong>\u2014 a colleague of <strong>Murdock\u2019s<\/strong> attorney, <strong>Raj Gadhok<\/strong> \u2014 also referenced video that, <strong>Kozyra<\/strong> wrote, <strong>Murdock<\/strong> showed the university last Nov. 26.<\/p>\n<p>The video was presented after <strong>Pernetti<\/strong> asked for evidence that would back\u00a0<strong>Murdock\u2019s <\/strong>claims of abuse by Rice, myCentral-Jersey.com reported.
