{"id":19386,"date":"2013-02-04T16:12:02","date_gmt":"2013-02-04T21:12:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=19386"},"modified":"2013-02-04T16:14:00","modified_gmt":"2013-02-04T21:14:00","slug":"applebee-waitress-fired-after-posting-pastors-give-god-10-percent-no-tip-receipt-on-reddit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=19386","title":{"rendered":"Applebee Waitress Fired After Posting Pastor\u2019s \u2018Give God 10 Percent\u2019 No-Tip Receipt On Reddit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A St. Louis Applebee waitress, <strong>Chelsea Welch (pictured, inset)<\/strong>, was canned after uploading a picture on Reddit of the dining receipt from pastor <strong>Alois Bell (pictured)<\/strong>\u00a0who refused to tip and instead scribbled on the bill, \u201cI give God 10 percent why should you get 18.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The January 25th incident took place after an unidentified waitress was assigned as the server for a large party of five adults and five children, which reportedly included <strong>Pastor<\/strong> <strong>Alois Bell<\/strong>, a minister at a fledgling church, Truth in the World Deliverance Ministries.<\/p>\n<p>When <strong>Bell<\/strong> was given the dinner tab, she noticed that an 18 percent gratuity had been added, which is customary for the restaurant chain when there are parties greater than six.\u00a0 The 37-year-old pastor crossed out the automatic tip on the receipt and wrote in a \u201c0&#8243; with a slash through it along with the aforementioned religious message.<\/p>\n<p>Even though <strong>Welch<\/strong> saw humor in what <strong>Bell <\/strong>had written, the Mother of three did not find the waitress\u2019 actions very funny.
