{"id":18535,"date":"2012-12-10T15:49:45","date_gmt":"2012-12-10T20:49:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=18535"},"modified":"2012-12-10T15:55:37","modified_gmt":"2012-12-10T20:55:37","slug":"deputy-sheriff-kills-suspected-shoplifter-in-front-of-two-small-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=18535","title":{"rendered":"Deputy Sheriff Kills Suspected Shoplifter In Front Of Two Small Children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TEXAS &#8211; Wal-Mart security guard,\u00a0<strong>Louis Campbell<\/strong>, shot and killed suspected shoplifter and mother of two, <strong>Shelly Frey<\/strong>, 27, in the parking lot of a Houston Wal-Mart in front of her two children as she attempted to leave the premises.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campbell<\/strong>, an off-duty Harris County Sheriff\u2019s deputy, was alerted by in-store security that <strong>Frey, Tisa Andrews and Yolanda Craig<\/strong>\u00a0 had been observed hiding items in their purses. When the 26-year veteran confronted the trio, they ran for their car in the parking lot where two small children awaited their return.<\/p>\n<p>The women entered the vehicle, but <strong>Campbell<\/strong> did not give up the chase. He opened the door and commanded that they exit, at which point the driver of the car accelerated and attempted to drive off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it knocked him off balance and, in fear of his life and being ran over, he discharged his weapon at that point,\u2019 said <strong>Thomas Gilliland<\/strong>, Harris County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>The women continued to drive despite <strong>Frey<\/strong> being injured and didn\u2019t stop until they made it to a nearby apartment building.
