{"id":18477,"date":"2012-12-06T15:49:21","date_gmt":"2012-12-06T20:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=18477"},"modified":"2012-12-06T15:49:21","modified_gmt":"2012-12-06T20:49:21","slug":"georgia-woman-sentenced-to-12-years-for-running-over-ex-boyfriend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=18477","title":{"rendered":"Georgia Woman Sentenced To 12 Years For Running Over Ex-Boyfriend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Vanessa Marie Garrett-Rogers<\/strong>, 28, plead guilty to running over her ex-boyfriend with an SUV and will spend 12 years of a 30-year sentence behind bars.\u00a0 She will spend the remaining years on probation.<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement released by the Douglas County District <strong>Attorney\u2019s<\/strong> office, she will also have to pay her victim, <strong>Darius Row,<\/strong> $58,000 in restitution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Garrett-Rogers<\/strong> pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident for the July 2010 incident. <strong>Garrett-Rogers<\/strong> struck the victim, whose name was not released, at Pinebrook Mobile Homes hours after he ended the couple\u2019s relationship, Assistant District Attorney <strong>Tom Kegley<\/strong> told the court.<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses said <strong>Garrett-Rogers<\/strong> struck the victim, dragged him under her vehicle, and backed over him before fleeing the scene.
