{"id":18346,"date":"2012-11-29T14:51:57","date_gmt":"2012-11-29T19:51:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=18346"},"modified":"2012-11-29T14:51:57","modified_gmt":"2012-11-29T19:51:57","slug":"miami-dolphins-jonathon-amaya-arrested-for-choking-cab-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=18346","title":{"rendered":"Miami Dolphins Jonathon Amaya Arrested For Choking Cab Driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Miami Dolphins defensive back <strong>Jonathon Amaya<\/strong> was cuffed by Miami Beach police in the wee hours of Monday morning for allegedly choking a cab.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old had flagged down a cab outside a Miami nightclub at around 4:30 a.m. When the cab pulled up to<strong> Amaya<\/strong>, he reportedly asked the driver, <strong>Jonathon Vunge<\/strong>, if he would to take him to a destination beyond the outskirts of the regular route. <strong>Amaya<\/strong> allegedly handed <strong>Vunge <\/strong>a $100 bill for his trouble and the driver agreed to take him. <strong>Vunge<\/strong> then told police investigators that as they drove, <strong>Amaya<\/strong> suddenly became \u201caggressive\u201d and he felt threatened by his behavior so he returned the player back to the spot where he had picked him up.<\/p>\n<p>According to the 44-year-old driver, <strong>Amaya<\/strong> then \u201cleaned forward and wrapped his hands around his neck and started choking him.\u201d When police were called to the scene, <strong>Amaya<\/strong> was still inside the car and <strong>Vunge<\/strong> was frantically telling them that the NFL player had tried to kill him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Miami Dolphins defensive back Jonathon Amaya was cuffed by Miami Beach police in the wee hours of Monday morning for allegedly choking a cab.
