Obama Buys Books To Promote Independent Shops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ARLINGTON, VA \u2014 <strong>President Barack Obama<\/strong> made a quick trip to a Virginia bookstore for some Christmas shopping.<\/p>\n<p>The president took his daughters, <strong>Sasha<\/strong> and <strong>Malia<\/strong>, to One More Page Books in Arlington, Va., on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The White House says <strong>Pres. Obama<\/strong> was promoting an effort called \u201csmall business Saturday\u201d to encourage shoppers to patronize mom-and-pop businesses after Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p>At the store, <strong>Pres. Obama<\/strong> held up his BlackBerry, apparently looking up a book title as he spoke with shop owner <strong>Eileen McGervey<\/strong>. He said \u201cpreparation\u201d was the key to his shopping.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pres. Obama<\/strong> brushed off a reporter\u2019s question about the looming \u201cfiscal cliff,\u201d saying \u201cwe\u2019re doing Christmas shopping.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House says <strong>Pres.
