{"id":17789,"date":"2012-11-01T14:32:05","date_gmt":"2012-11-01T18:32:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=17789"},"modified":"2012-11-01T14:32:05","modified_gmt":"2012-11-01T18:32:05","slug":"bankrupt-toni-braxton-accused-of-credit-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=17789","title":{"rendered":"Bankrupt Toni Braxton Accused Of Credit Fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Toni Braxton<\/strong> has been accused of illegally transferring money to her estranged husband in an effort to avoid paying creditors in her ongoing bankruptcy case.<\/p>\n<p>The trustee of <strong>Toni\u2019s<\/strong> bankruptcy estate says the R&amp;B singer fraudulently transferred $53,490 to <strong>Keri Lewis<\/strong> after the money had already been designated for creditor repayment.<\/p>\n<p>The trustee is now suing<strong> Lewis<\/strong> to get the money back.<\/p>\n<p>A rep from the <strong>Braxton<\/strong> camp said, \u201cAll of the payments made to <strong>Lewis<\/strong> prior to Toni\u2019s bankruptcy filing were appropriate transfers for reasonable and necessary personal and business expenses in the ordinary course of her business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Braxton<\/strong> filed for bankruptcy in 2010, and she owes anywhere from $10 to $50 million. This also isn\u2019t the first time the singer has faced financial issues.
