{"id":17470,"date":"2012-10-15T16:16:05","date_gmt":"2012-10-15T20:16:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=17470"},"modified":"2012-10-15T16:16:15","modified_gmt":"2012-10-15T20:16:15","slug":"texas-mom-who-glued-daughters-hands-to-wall-gets-99-years-in-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=17470","title":{"rendered":"Texas Mom Who Glued Daughter&#8217;s Hands To Wall Gets 99 Years In Prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Texas mom who beat her 2-year-old daughter and glued her hands to a wall was sentenced to 99 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Judge Larry Mitchell<\/strong> gave the life sentence to a tearful <strong>Elizabeth Escalona<\/strong>, 23, because &#8220;you savagely beat your child to the edge of death.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The sentence came down after five days of painful testimony in the case, as prosecutors showed pictures of the beaten toddler to <strong>Escalona<\/strong> and asked her if she was a &#8220;monster.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A monster did this,&#8221; prosecutor <strong>Eren Price<\/strong> told <strong>Escalona<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Escalona<\/strong>, who had pleaded guilty in July, nodded and replied, &#8220;Yes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The attack on the child came after <strong>Escalona<\/strong> became frustrated with potty training. Testimony from the girl&#8217;s siblings revealed that <strong>Escalona<\/strong> kicked the girl in the stomach and hit her with a milk jug before gluing her hands to the wall.
