Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To be directed by Eastwood, the film will be the fourth <em>&#8220;A Star Is Born,&#8221;<\/em> about a singing female superstar who struggles to stand by her man, a fading, alcoholic actor. <strong>Janet Gaynor<\/strong> starred in the 1937 original, with <strong>Garland<\/strong> and <strong>James Mason<\/strong> reprising it in 1954, and <strong>Streisand<\/strong> and <strong>Kris Kristofferson <\/strong>headlining a 1976 version.<\/p>\n<p>Although names like <strong>Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise, Christian Bale<\/strong> and <strong>Johnny Depp <\/strong>have been mentioned, a male lead has yet to be cast in the film, which was first delayed by Beyonce&#8217;s 2011-2012 pregnancy with daughter Blue Ivy.<\/p>\n<p>Variety reports that Grammy-winning jazz singer<strong> Esperanza Spalding<\/strong> could possibly be cast as the leading woman.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beyonce won&#8217;t be following in the footsteps of Barbra Streisand and Judy Garland after all.
