{"id":17051,"date":"2012-09-27T14:45:59","date_gmt":"2012-09-27T18:45:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=17051"},"modified":"2012-09-27T14:45:59","modified_gmt":"2012-09-27T18:45:59","slug":"family-sues-delaware-hospital-after-releasing-man-to-die-in-er-lobby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=17051","title":{"rendered":"Family Sues Delaware Hospital After Releasing Man To Die In ER Lobby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The family of 38-year-old <strong>Melvin Dillard Jr.<\/strong> is suing a Delaware hospital, after <strong>Dillard<\/strong> went to their emergency room for chest pains and was released. <strong>Dillard<\/strong> ended up dying of a heart attack while he was waiting for a ride home in the medical center\u2019s lobby, reports the Cape Gazette.<\/p>\n<p>According to the lawsuit, the 38-year-old man was taken to Beebe Medical Center on June 26th, after he was suffering from pronounced chest pains. The EMS workers observed that <strong>Dillard<\/strong> demonstrated all of the signs that point to an impending heart attack. The young man had an abnormal EKG as well.<\/p>\n<p>After being examined by the hospital staff, though, <strong>Dillard<\/strong> was allegedly told to go home and seek the medical services of a cardiologist.<\/p>\n<p>When<strong> Dillard<\/strong> went to the hospital lobby to wait for a ride home, he later died of a heart attack at some point during the night and his body was discovered in the hospital\u2019s lobby by a worker.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dillard<\/strong> was reportedly in the lobby so long that rigor mortis (the stiffening of the joints and muscles of a body after death) had already begun to set in, states the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dillard<\/strong> was then transported back to the emergency room, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The family of 38-year-old Melvin Dillard Jr. is suing a Delaware hospital, after Dillard went to their emergency room for chest pains and was released.
