{"id":16507,"date":"2012-08-30T15:47:19","date_gmt":"2012-08-30T19:47:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16507"},"modified":"2012-08-30T15:47:19","modified_gmt":"2012-08-30T19:47:19","slug":"man-jailed-for-trying-to-set-another-afire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16507","title":{"rendered":"Man Jailed For Trying To Set Another Afire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s deputies report that on Sunday, August 26th at 10:20 p. m., <strong>Micah Williams<\/strong>, 27, and <strong>Michael Cala (pictured),<\/strong> 49, got into an argument that turned physical.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies said <strong>Cala<\/strong> called <strong>Williams<\/strong> a racial slur over and over again, then grabbed a gas can and started pouring it on <strong>Williams\u2019<\/strong> front porch while yelling more racial obscenities for him to come outside.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cala<\/strong> allegedly chased <strong>Williams<\/strong> with the gas can and poured some of the fluid on him. <strong>Cala<\/strong> then began trying to ignite a lighter and continued chasing <strong>Williams<\/strong> in an attempt to set him on fire.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies said <strong>Cala<\/strong> yelled more racial slurs at <strong>Williams<\/strong>, and reportedly repeated the statement, \u201cdie, n&#8212;&#8211;die.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cala<\/strong> was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson <strong>Debbie Carter<\/strong> said, <strong>Cala<\/strong> is charged with a hate crime and that enhances all charges associated with this incident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s deputies report that on Sunday, August 26th at 10:20 p. m., Micah Williams, 27, and Michael Cala (pictured), 49, got into an argument that turned physical.
