{"id":16497,"date":"2012-08-30T15:34:53","date_gmt":"2012-08-30T19:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16497"},"modified":"2012-08-30T15:36:32","modified_gmt":"2012-08-30T19:36:32","slug":"hundreds-gather-for-prayer-vigil-at-morris-brown-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16497","title":{"rendered":"Hundreds Gather For Prayer Vigil At Morris Brown College"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friends, family and supporters of Morris Brown College converged on the school\u2019s campus over the weekend for a special \u201cNational Day of Prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s event, which was described as a prayer vigil, attracted hundreds keen to show their support for the historic black college as it struggles to stay afloat. Among the crowd were alumni, some of whom were students over 50 years ago, as well as recent graduates.<\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the day was a keynote address by<strong> Preston W. Williams II<\/strong>, the newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
