{"id":16464,"date":"2012-08-30T15:10:59","date_gmt":"2012-08-30T19:10:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16464"},"modified":"2012-08-30T14:51:06","modified_gmt":"2012-08-30T18:51:06","slug":"bucs-put-10-players-on-waivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16464","title":{"rendered":"Bucs Put 10 Players  On Waivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, Tampa Bay Buccaneer head coach,<strong> Greg Schiano<\/strong>, called 10 players to turn in their playbooks as the team began trimming the roster.<\/p>\n<p>The Bucs successfully reached the 75-man roster limit by the 4 p. m. deadline.<\/p>\n<p>The Bucs put guard <strong>Davin Joseph<\/strong> on injured reserve, and defensive end<strong> Da\u2019Quan Bowers<\/strong> on reserve\/physically unable to perform lists.<\/p>\n<p>The Bucs waived running back <strong>De\u2019Anthony Curtis<\/strong>, long snapper, Andrew DePaola, wide receiver, <strong>Greg Ellingson<\/strong>, tight end, <strong>Collin Franklin<\/strong>, wide receiver, <strong>Ed Gant<\/strong>, punter, <strong>Eric Guthrie,<\/strong> tackle, <strong>Mike Ingersoll<\/strong>, linebacker, <strong>Brian Smith<\/strong>, safety, <strong>Tramain Thomas<\/strong>, and cornerback, <strong>Marquese Wheato<\/strong>n.<\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday, the Bucs waived defensive end <strong>Quintin Anderson<\/strong>, wide receiver <strong>Armahd Lewis<\/strong> and tackle <strong>Mike VanDermeulen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After Wednesday\u2019s pre-season finale against the Washington Redskins, <strong>Schiano<\/strong> will have to trim the roster to the regular season 53-man limit.<\/p>\n<p>The Bucs also announced that top draft pick, running back <strong>Doug Martin<\/strong> from Boise State, has successfully taken over as the number one back, a distinction held by <strong>LeGarrett Blount<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Also, first round draft pick, safety <strong>Mark Barron<\/strong>, has been paired with 16-year veteran, <strong>Ronde Barber<\/strong>, and that has had a huge impact on the improvement of the defense.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Monday, Tampa Bay Buccaneer head coach, Greg Schiano, called 10 players to turn in their playbooks as the team began trimming the roster.
