{"id":16379,"date":"2012-08-27T13:04:51","date_gmt":"2012-08-27T17:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16379"},"modified":"2012-08-26T13:37:02","modified_gmt":"2012-08-26T17:37:02","slug":"basketball-recruit-collapses-when-given-3-year-prison-sentence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16379","title":{"rendered":"Basketball Recruit  Collapses When Given 3-Year Prison\u00a0Sentence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The video shows it all. <strong>Tony Farmer<\/strong>, a highly recruited high school basketball prospect out of Garfield Heights, Ohio, collapsed to the floor Tuesday after receiving a three-year prison sentence.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Farmer<\/strong> plead guilty\u00a0in July to kidnapping, felonious assault and robbery and intimidation.<\/p>\n<p>The charges stem from an altercation between <strong>Farmer<\/strong> and his ex-girlfriend <strong>Andrea Lane<\/strong> on April 23. Farmer was listed on several recruiting websites as a top 100 prospect in the 2013 class. \u00a0The 6\u20197 forward had drawn interest from DePaul, Illinois, Michigan State, Penn State and Xavier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Farmer\u2019s<\/strong> ex-girlfriend\u00a0asked the judge\u00a0for mercy, saying although she wants no future contact with <strong>Farmer<\/strong>, he shouldn\u2019t have to go to prison. <strong>Lane,<\/strong> who is also 18, added that<strong> Farmer<\/strong> needs help and she does not think he will receive it behind bars.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Farmer<\/strong> would have been a senior this fall.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The video shows it all.
