{"id":16141,"date":"2012-08-13T16:15:03","date_gmt":"2012-08-13T20:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16141"},"modified":"2012-08-13T16:15:03","modified_gmt":"2012-08-13T20:15:03","slug":"bucs-show-focus-on-running-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16141","title":{"rendered":"Bucs Show Focus On Running Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It might be awhile before <strong>LeGarrette Blount<\/strong> or rookie <strong>Doug Martin<\/strong> is declared the Tampa Bay Buccaneers\u2019 starting tailback.<\/p>\n<p>Coach <strong>Greg Schiano<\/strong> doesn\u2019t see any urgency on that front.<\/p>\n<p>Developing a running game is a top priority for the new head coach of a team that ran the ball fewer than 22 times per game last season, the least of any NFL team.<\/p>\n<p>The Bucs traded into the first round to draft <strong>Martin<\/strong>, a quick and compact running back out of Boise State. That sent a message to <strong>Blount<\/strong>, who came to camp with his job on the line after losing five fumbles last season and experiencing a big dropoff from his 1,007-yard performance of 2010.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schiano<\/strong> sent a message in the spring about the kind of offense he intends to run, first by drafting <strong>Martin<\/strong> and then by signing All-Pro guard <strong>Carl Nicks<\/strong> to a five-year contract.
