{"id":16074,"date":"2012-08-09T16:20:23","date_gmt":"2012-08-09T20:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16074"},"modified":"2012-08-09T16:20:23","modified_gmt":"2012-08-09T20:20:23","slug":"trayvons-mother-to-sue-insurance-company-of-townhome-community-where-son-died","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=16074","title":{"rendered":"Trayvon\u2019s Mother To Sue Insurance Company Of Townhome Community Where Son Died"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A series of recent developments in the<strong> Trayvon Martin<\/strong> case reveal that the parents of the slain teen are not sitting idly while their son\u2019s killer,<strong> George Zimmerman<\/strong>, awaits his fate.<\/p>\n<p>Sybrina Fulton filed paperwork last week to jumpstart a lawsuit against the insurance company for the Retreat at Twin Lakes homeowners association, seeking monetary damages in the death of her 17-year-old son within the gates of the townhome community.<\/p>\n<p>In the documents, Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America is seeking clarification of its responsibilities in Trayvon\u2019s and requested the judge to strike down any chance of the company having liability in the case.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report, Travelers is asking the court for defense against paying monies to the <strong>Martin<\/strong> family and to rule that the company \u201chas no duty to defend The Retreat at Twin Lakes,\u201d according to the filing. While the courts are not releasing the amount of damages sought by<strong> Fulton<\/strong>, Travelers\u2019 documents reveal that the amount exceeds $75,000.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Martin<\/strong> family attorney <strong>Benjamin Crump<\/strong> said that while <strong>Travyon\u2019s<\/strong> parents are committed to seeking justice for their son, he also feels that his office should pursue the claims against other entities that could be responsible as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A series of recent developments in the Trayvon Martin case reveal that the parents of the slain teen are not sitting idly while their son\u2019s killer, George Zimmerman, awaits his fate.
