The Saints open training camp next Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, <strong>Vilma\u2019s<\/strong> attorneys asked <strong>Judge Helen G. Berriga<\/strong>n to hear their request for a temporary restraining order before the Saints\u2019 training camp opens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vilma<\/strong> was suspended by<strong> Commissioner Roger Goodell<\/strong> for his role in the team\u2019s bounty program. He also has sued <strong>Goodell<\/strong> for defamation.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Tuesday, the league filed a claim that the New Orleans linebacker did not \u201cexhaust the dispute resolution procedures\u201d in the collective bargaining agreement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vilma<\/strong> and the other three players suspended &#8211; Saints defensive end <strong>Will Smith<\/strong>, current Packers DE <strong>Anthony Hargrove<\/strong> and current Browns LB <strong>Scott Fujita<\/strong> &#8211; did not defend themselves at their appeals hearing before <strong>Goodell<\/strong> last month. <strong>Goodell<\/strong> then upheld the suspensions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW ORLEANS\u00a0 \u2014 Jonathan Vilma\u2019s hearing as he attempts to delay or overturn his season-long suspension has been moved up a week to July 26.
