{"id":15694,"date":"2012-07-19T14:28:58","date_gmt":"2012-07-19T18:28:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=15694"},"modified":"2012-07-19T14:29:10","modified_gmt":"2012-07-19T18:29:10","slug":"two-women-killed-by-16-year-old-driving-tractor-trailer-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=15694","title":{"rendered":"Two Women Killed By 16-Year-Old Driving Tractor Trailer Truck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>COLORADO &#8212; <strong>Shun Jones<\/strong>, 48, and <strong>Amanda Omo-Iyamu<\/strong>, 38, were struck and killed Saturday morning by a 16-year-old youth driving a tractor-trailer as they were pulled to the side of a Colorado highway while changing a flat tire.<\/p>\n<p>The two women, who were cousins, were on their way from Texas to visit family members. They were accompanied by <strong>Shun\u2019s<\/strong> 18-year-old son, <strong>Lamarcus Lockett<\/strong>, who remained in the vehicle and was unharmed.<\/p>\n<p>The pair was struck by a truck that had been towing a full cargo of horses in a trailer.<\/p>\n<p>Upon striking the women, the truck reportedly stopped about a half mile down the road. There were two people in the truck, <strong>Tristan Martin<\/strong>, 16, and 37-year-old <strong>Michel Martin<\/strong> of Sulphur, La. When police questioned both parties, <strong>Michel<\/strong> told them he had been driving the truck. After further questioning, investigators discovered <strong>Michel<\/strong> had lied and that the youth had actually been the one operating the rig when it struck the two women.\u00a0 Both <strong>Michel<\/strong> and the teen sustained no injuries.<\/p>\n<p>One woman died at the scene and the other was airlifted to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tristan<\/strong> was charged with two counts of leaving the scene after an accident involving a death, felony, and two misdemeanor counts of careless driving involving death.\u00a0 <strong>Michel<\/strong> was charged with one count of false reporting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COLORADO &#8212; Shun Jones, 48, and Amanda Omo-Iyamu, 38, were struck and killed Saturday morning by a 16-year-old youth driving a tractor-trailer as they were pulled to the side of a Colorado highway while changing a flat tire.
