{"id":15536,"date":"2012-07-11T14:55:42","date_gmt":"2012-07-11T18:55:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=15536"},"modified":"2012-07-12T08:24:17","modified_gmt":"2012-07-12T12:24:17","slug":"breaking-news-famu-president-submits-letter-of-resignation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=15536","title":{"rendered":"FAMU President Submits Letter Of Resigna- tion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 10th president of Florida A&amp;M University, <strong>Dr. James Ammons<\/strong> has submitted his letter of resignation to FAMU\u2019s Board of Trustees and its chair, <strong>Dr. Solomon Badger, III<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chairman Badger<\/strong> states, \u201cI am saddened by <strong>President Ammons\u2019<\/strong> decision to resign, but it is his choice to do so. Given all that has transpired, it seems to be in the best interest of the University and I applaud him for putting FAMU ahead of his personal goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FAMU\u2019s Board is made up of mostly Republicans, who according to some, continued to do <strong>Gov. Rick Scott\u2019s<\/strong> bidding, when he asked for <strong>Dr. Ammons<\/strong>\u00a0 job following the\u00a0 band hazing incident in November, that left drum major, <strong>Robert Champion<\/strong> dead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gov.
