{"id":15438,"date":"2012-07-05T15:36:30","date_gmt":"2012-07-05T19:36:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=15438"},"modified":"2012-07-05T15:43:28","modified_gmt":"2012-07-05T19:43:28","slug":"mom-who-left-kids-on-side-of-road-to-search-for-god-found-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=15438","title":{"rendered":"Mom Who Left Kids On Side Of Road To Search For God Found Dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ALABAMA &#8211; <strong>Lamona Fields Bender,<\/strong> who left her two young children on the side of a road in Elmore County, Ala., to go looking for God, was found dead in a river.<\/p>\n<p>The 28-year-old mother abandoned her children, a 5-year-old boy and 2-year-old girl, in her vehicle on last Monday afternoon. The children were found naked and wandering two miles away from where<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fields<\/strong> had parked her car. They were unharmed.<\/p>\n<p>Police received a call from a fisherman who had remembered seeing <strong>Bender<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Police suspect <strong>Bender<\/strong> was distressed, went wading in the river, and drowned.<\/p>\n<p>Although an autopsy has not been performed, authorities believe that the young woman took her own life. Police investigators found no bruising or wounds of any kind on her body.<\/p>\n<p>According to <strong>Bender\u2019s<\/strong> family, she had been \u201cgoing through a tough time,\u201d so officers suspect that she was probably emotionally fragile and at a breaking point. She had lost her mother and a young child in 2009.
