{"id":15221,"date":"2012-06-25T15:14:48","date_gmt":"2012-06-25T19:14:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=15221"},"modified":"2012-06-25T15:14:48","modified_gmt":"2012-06-25T19:14:48","slug":"black-journalist-suspended-for-saying-mitt-romney-is-comfortable-around-white-folks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=15221","title":{"rendered":"Black Journalist Suspended For Saying Mitt Romney Is \u201cComfortable\u201d Around \u2018White Folks\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A White House correspondent for the website Politico.com, has been reprimanded for making racially tinged comments about <strong>Mitt Romney<\/strong>, Thursday. <strong>Joe Williams<\/strong> was discussing <strong>Romney&#8217;s<\/strong> immigration views on MSNBC, and when prodded about the presidential hopeful&#8217;s lack of connection with Hispanic voters, gave a politically incorrect response. \u201cIt&#8217;s very interesting that he does so many appearances on Fox &amp; Friends, but it also points out a larger problem that he&#8217;s got to solve if he wants to be successful come this fall.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>Romney<\/strong> is very, very comfortable with people who are like him. That&#8217;s one of the reasons why he seems so stiff and awkward in some town hall settings, why he can&#8217;t relate to people other than that. But when he comes on Fox &amp; Friends they&#8217;re like him, they&#8217;re white folks who are very much relaxed in their own company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Not long after his segment, a conservative website caught wind of <strong>Williams&#8217;<\/strong> words, and a series of tweets in which he shows an obvious support of<strong> President Obama<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In a memo announcing his suspension, Politico editors said <strong>Williams&#8217;<\/strong> actions \u201cfell short of our standards for fairness and judgment in an especially unfortunate way.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A White House correspondent for the website Politico.com, has been reprimanded for making racially tinged comments about Mitt Romney, Thursday.
