{"id":14609,"date":"2012-05-17T14:48:58","date_gmt":"2012-05-17T18:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=14609"},"modified":"2012-05-17T13:58:49","modified_gmt":"2012-05-17T17:58:49","slug":"chuck-brown-the-godfather-of-go-go-dies-at-75","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=14609","title":{"rendered":"Chuck Brown,  The \u2018Godfather Of Go-Go,\u2019 Dies At 75"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The legendary father of Go-Go music, <strong>Chuck Brown<\/strong> has passed away at the age of 75, confirmed his manager <strong>Tom Goldfogle<\/strong>.\u00a0 As previously reported by NewsOne, the master, affectionately known as <strong>\u201cChuck Baby\u201d<\/strong> had been suffering with pneumonia since being admitted to John Hopkins University Hospital back on April 18.<\/p>\n<p>The always cool and gravelly sounding <strong>Brown,<\/strong> whose rhythmic sounds blended funk, soul and Latin music was born in Gaston, N.C.\u00a0 Whereas he spent some time in jail as a young man, when he was released in 1962, he made the decision to pursue his love of music.\u00a0 Washington D.C. served as <strong>Brown\u2019s<\/strong> musical inspiration for most of his nearly five decades-plus musical career.\u00a0 After kicking it around with some bands, <strong>Brown<\/strong> formed his group the Soul Searchers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brown\u2019s<\/strong> first monster hit<em> \u201cBustin\u2019 Loose\u201d<\/em> punctuated the go-go sound, dominating the R&amp;B singles chart in 1979. <em>\u201cBustin\u2019 Loose\u201d<\/em> was \u201cthe one record I had so much confidence in,\u201d <strong>Mr. Brown<\/strong> told The Post in 2001. \u201cI messed with it for two years, wrote a hundred lines of lyrics and only ended up using two lines. .?.?.
