{"id":13813,"date":"2012-04-09T15:30:12","date_gmt":"2012-04-09T19:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=13813"},"modified":"2012-04-09T14:53:52","modified_gmt":"2012-04-09T18:53:52","slug":"gallupusa-poll-whites-overwhelmingly-believe-zimmerman-is-innocent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=13813","title":{"rendered":"Gallup\/USA Poll: Whites Overwhelmingly Believe Zimmerman Is Innocent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The death of <strong>Trayvon Martin<\/strong> has sparked a fury in most corners of Black America and each detail is read eagerly by many people who are fiercely advocating for <strong>George Zimmerman<\/strong>, 28, the White-Hispanic neighborhood watchman who shot him in the chest at point-blank range, to be tried for his murder.<\/p>\n<p>White America is saying not so fast.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new Gallup\/USA Today poll, 51 percent of Black people said <strong>Zimmerman<\/strong> is \u201cdefinitely guilty,\u201d while only 10 percent of White people believe he\u2019s guilty. Approximately 20 percent of both Whites and Blacks believe that <strong>Zimmerman<\/strong> is \u201cprobably guilty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The strict racial lines in the sand are apparent in other areas of the poll as well.<\/p>\n<p>73 percent of Black people believe that <strong>Zimmerman<\/strong> would have been arrested if <strong>Trayvon<\/strong> had been White.
