{"id":13643,"date":"2012-03-29T15:59:58","date_gmt":"2012-03-29T19:59:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=13643"},"modified":"2012-03-29T16:00:07","modified_gmt":"2012-03-29T20:00:07","slug":"nola-cop-trayvon-lived-like-a-thug-and-he-died-like-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=13643","title":{"rendered":"NOLA Cop: Trayvon Lived Like A Thug and He Died Like One"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Orleans police officer, <strong>Jason Giroir<\/strong>, 35, has been suspended indefinitely without pay for making disparaging remarks about 17-year-old <strong>Trayvon Martin<\/strong> online.<\/p>\n<p>In response to a comment posted Sunday on WWL-TV.com on a story about<strong> Trayvon<\/strong>, who was unarmed when he was gunned down by <strong>George Zimmerman<\/strong>, 28, <strong>Giroir<\/strong> said that the 17-year-old deserved to die:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAct like a Thug Die like one!\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giroir\u2019s<\/strong> wife echoed her husband\u2019s sentiments on the same article:<br \/>\n\u201cHe acted like a thug and died like one,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>When a commenter said that <strong>Giroir\u2019s<\/strong> comments were racist, the veteran did not back down:<br \/>\n\u201c\u2026 come on down to our town with a \u2018Hoodie\u2019 and you can join Martin in HELL and talk about your racist stories!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Police Superintendent <strong>Ronal Serpas<\/strong> said that he is outraged by <strong>Giroir\u2019s<\/strong> comments and that they do not\u00a0 reflect the views of the New Orleans Police Department.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Giroir<\/strong> was placed on desk duty during a recent investigation after he killed a Black man during a routine traffic stop. <strong>Justin Sipp<\/strong> was in the car with his brother, <strong>Earl Sipp<\/strong>, when<strong> Giroir<\/strong> and two back-up officers claim that Justin opened fire and was subsequently killed.
