{"id":13454,"date":"2012-03-19T17:14:17","date_gmt":"2012-03-19T21:14:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=13454"},"modified":"2012-03-19T17:14:17","modified_gmt":"2012-03-19T21:14:17","slug":"sweet-and-sour-16-bulls-super-season-ends-in-ncaa-third-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=13454","title":{"rendered":"Sweet And Sour 16 Bulls\u2019 Super Season Ends In NCAA Third Round"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NASHVILLE, Tenn. &#8211; The USF Bulls\u2019 fantastic season of basketball fell one game short of the Sweet 16.<\/p>\n<p>USF\u2019s late rally came up a few shots shy of completion in a 62-56 loss to Ohio in Sunday\u2019s third round of the NCAA Tournament at Bridgestone Arena.<\/p>\n<p>What a memorable run it was, however, for a USF team (22-14) that won 10 games last season and used that motivation to secure the program\u2019s first two NCAA tournament victories in its first trip back to the dance since 1992.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Victor Rudd Jr.<\/strong> and <strong>Anthony Collins<\/strong> led three Bulls in double figures with 13 points apiece, but the usually air-tight USF defense failed to stop Ohio\u2019s <strong>Walter Offutt<\/strong>, who posted a game-high 21 points with many coming during the Bobcats\u2019 game-deciding run midway through the second half.<\/p>\n<p>USF\u2019s offense ran out of steam late, but got off to an outstanding start against Ohio\u2019s defense that\u2019s top 10 in the nation in a number of categories.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NASHVILLE, Tenn. &#8211; The USF Bulls\u2019 fantastic season of basketball fell one game short of the Sweet 16.
