ROTESHA SILVEUS<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the Tampa Police Department, Rotesha Silveus, <\/strong>an Indian woman, was arrested on Friday, May 24, 2024. Tampa Police Detectives charged Rotesha Silveus <\/strong>and with the murder of her 18-year-old daughter, Natavia Sanders.<\/strong><\/p>\n Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw<\/strong> said, “This is a heartbreaking case. \nA 38-year-old woman has been charged with first-degree murder. The victim, her 18-year-old daughter, died on May 13th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
\n“just woke up from being passed out” after her mother, later identified as
\nSilveus,<\/strong> reportedly strangled her. The call was then disconnected.<\/p>\n
\ncooperate. After a brief struggle, officers were able to detain her and locate
\nNatavia,<\/strong> unresponsive, inside the home. Officers immediately began conducting CPR. Tampa Fire Rescue transported Natavia <\/strong>to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, Natavia <\/strong>died on May 13th.<\/p>\n
\nresisting an officer with violence and aggravated battery with great bodily
\nharm. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a murder. During the investigation that
\nfollowed, including interviews with witnesses, it was determined that Natavia <\/strong>had sustained injuries consistent with strangulation.<\/p>\n
