The information posted seems to have something to do with the prom. The <em>Sentinel <\/em>received information and the photos via email on Thursday, April 11, 2024. We\u2019re not sure when the post was made.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0In another of the same post, information and names have been added, stating that, <em>\u201cYo sickles kids wild for this.\u201d<\/em> The post names <strong>Sean Lee, Ava Kmiec<\/strong> and <strong>Breanna Dazebrink<\/strong> as those who thought the <em>\u201cprom proposal was super<\/em> <em>funny!\u201d<\/em> It adds, <em>\u201cMake sure to repost and email FSU! Muahhh no college.\u201d<\/em> Those who made the poster added what appears to be a slice of water melon and possibly chicken wings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Two students in the post are at someone\u2019s home where the social media was taken.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The <em>Sentinel <\/em>was unable to find out the reason for this post. We reached out to Sickles Principal <strong>Ms. Krista Luloff<\/strong> and left a message with her secretary on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School Board member <strong>Henry \u201cShake\u201d Washington<\/strong> said he, too, had been sent that email posting. His comment on the posting, \u201cwe have to respect each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We also reached out to the School District and received this statement from <strong>Tanya Arja,<\/strong> Chief of Communications for the District: \u201cAdministrators swiftly addressed the incident as soon as they were made aware. Our district does not condone this behavior. We cannot share any other information as student discipline is a private matter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Through various sources, the <em>Sentinel <\/em>learned that the Sickles students involved were suspended for 3 days and banned from attending the prom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Administrator And Student In Altercation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0The <em>Sentinel <\/em>also learned about an incident at Lennard High School. An administrator or teacher was physically involved in an altercation with a student at the school. The Sentinel has not been able to gather details about the altercation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School Board member <strong>Washington <\/strong>said the Superintendent and his staff would deal with that type incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Regarding this particular incident, <strong>Arja<\/strong> said, \u201cThis incident is under review by our Office of Professional Standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Lennard\u2019s Principal, <strong>Ms.<\/strong> <strong>Denise Savino<\/strong>, was not available, but a message was left with the secretary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 At press time Wednesday, we had not head back from the principals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students giving finger signals while holding a derogatory sign. \u00a0 This post on social media has additional information. \u00a0 BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Two students from Sickles High School posted some derogatory information on social media, seemingly aimed at African-American students.
