{"id":13012,"date":"2012-02-23T15:44:07","date_gmt":"2012-02-23T20:44:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=13012"},"modified":"2012-02-23T15:30:30","modified_gmt":"2012-02-23T20:30:30","slug":"tampa-attorney-among-new-law-school-faculty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=13012","title":{"rendered":"Tampa Attorney Among New Law School Faculty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cooley Law School Associate <strong>Dean Jeff Martlew<\/strong> has announced the school\u2019s initial Tampa Bay campus faculty, who will be in place when classes start this spring.\u00a0 Joining Cooley\u2019s staff is prominent Florida attorney <strong>Carolyn House Stewart<\/strong>, and three current Cooley professors from the school\u2019s Michigan campuses: <strong>John Scott,<\/strong> <strong>Brendan Beery<\/strong> and <strong>Ronald Sutton<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to have top-notch legal professionals join Cooley at our Tampa Bay campus, as we educate the next generation of practice-ready attorneys,\u201d said <strong>Martlew<\/strong>. \u201c<strong>Carolyn House Stewart<\/strong> has more than 34 years of experience in the legal profession, and <strong>John Scott<\/strong>, <strong>Brendan Beery<\/strong> and<strong> Ronald Sutton<\/strong> bring more than 63 years of practical, legal teaching skills.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Atty. Stewart<\/strong> will teach Contract Law to Cooley\u2019s incoming class at Tampa Bay. She is currently a shareholder in Macfarlane, Ferguson &amp; McMullen, one of Florida\u2019s oldest law firms. She has been with the firm since 1994, handling cases in the firm\u2019s civil litigation, casualty and labor law sections.\u00a0 Stewart received her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1978. She has practiced before the U. S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the U. S.
