HOLTON<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Sentinel City Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday evening, the country was shocked as the news that <strong>Ms. Whitney Houston<\/strong> had died. The death of the 48- years-old superstar remains under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>In 1991, <strong>Ms. Houston<\/strong> sang the Star Spangled Banner during the Super Bowl at Tampa Satdium. Her rendition of the song made the Billboard charts and has yet to be rivaled.<\/p>\n<p>Some Tampa residents shared their feelings on her sudden death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Khaliah Fleming<\/strong> said, \u201cTotally unexpected&#8230;. such an incredible and amazing voice, yet such a sad life story. We will never have another voice like hers!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Billy Wheeler<\/strong> said, \u201cHer voice was God-given; <strong>Whitney<\/strong> was born to sing.\u00a0 She was beautiful, intelligent, and regal.\u00a0 She was also human.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve had her on my prayer list for the last few years, and I believe she has arrived at the peace she sought.\u00a0 She leaves a wonderful legacy of music and life for us to celebrate.\u00a0 I pray that her family finds comfort during this time of separation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Pat Spencer<\/strong> said, \u201cHaving enjoyed listening to <strong>Whitney Houston<\/strong> since the late 80s, I am devastated at her passing.\u00a0\u00a0My\u00a0feelings were expressed\u00a0through the prayer offered by <strong>LL Cool J<\/strong>\u00a0at the opening of the\u00a0Grammy Awards last night.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danny Green (pictured above, with Houston)<\/strong> said, \u201cThe death of <strong>Whitney<\/strong> has come as a complete shock.\u00a0\u00a0 I had the great honor of meeting Whitney backstage at the 2010 BET Honors.\u00a0 Knowing her personally has really affected me; I feel like I\u2019ve lost a friend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer talents exceeded the highest expectations.\u00a0 My favorite songs by <strong>Whitney<\/strong> are <strong><em>I Will Always Love You<\/em><\/strong> and <em>I Have Nothing<\/em>.\u00a0 Her acting role in <strong><em>The Bodyguard<\/em><\/strong> was outstanding, which certainly opened the doors for many artists to introduce acting to their careers. <strong>Whitney\u2019s<\/strong> great talents and powerful voice along with her presence will certainly be missed.\u201d<strong>[private]<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Andrea White<\/strong> said, \u201cA great loss when even any member passes in the community, remain positive and keep the family and community in our prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Tonya Lewis<\/strong> said, \u201cI felt like a part was ripped from me. I grew up listening to <strong>Ms. Houston<\/strong> in high school in the 80s. My prayers go out to her precious daughter<strong>, Bobbi Khristina<\/strong>, and <strong>Ms. Houston\u2019s<\/strong> family. She will always be cherished and missed by her fans. God bless you <strong>Ms. Whitney<\/strong> <strong>Houston<\/strong>, and may you soul have peace now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keto Hodges said<\/strong>, \u201cI was saddened by the passing of <strong>Whitney<\/strong> at the fairly young age of 48 on the eve of the Grammy&#8217;s an event she dominated throughout her storied musical career. I am most prayerful for her daughter, <strong>Bobbi Kristina<\/strong>, now 18 who has seen more than her fair share of tragedy, triumph and chaos since her early childhood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope that people take this time to reflect on positive memories of a historic figure, but most of all a real person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andre Walker<\/strong> said, \u201cI was in the airport at Newark&#8217;s Liberty Airport several years ago. I saw <strong>Whitney<\/strong>, <strong>Bobby<\/strong>, and friends in the Concourse. <strong>\u00a0Whitney<\/strong> was loud and somewhat rude. Running through the airport as if she was a kid. Wig turned to one side and looking a mess. \u201cShe almost ran over a little girl walking with her mom. We boarded a plane headed to Atlanta, both she and<strong> Bobby<\/strong> exhibited weird and strange behavior.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExtremely hyperactive behavior, loud talking, using profanity, etc. <strong>Whitney&#8217;s<\/strong> addiction played a very important role in her demise. Her beautiful voice almost totally gone, a victim of her addiction and lifestyle.
