{"id":12627,"date":"2012-02-02T16:20:28","date_gmt":"2012-02-02T21:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=12627"},"modified":"2012-02-02T16:20:28","modified_gmt":"2012-02-02T21:20:28","slug":"young-father-found-fatally-shot-inside-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=12627","title":{"rendered":"Young Father Found Fatally Shot Inside Car"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tampa Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man found shot to death early Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports, <strong>Trey Anglin<\/strong> was found at 4:20 a.m. sitting in a car in the driveway of his home with a bullet wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Homicide detectives have ruled <strong>Anglin\u2019s<\/strong> death as unexplained, but did say an eyewitness told them he shot himself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anglin\u2019s<\/strong> mother, <strong>Marva Anglin<\/strong>, said what the police have told them, and what the witness told them doesn\u2019t make any sense.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was sitting in my office in the front of the house with the shades pulled back all night long, and I never heard a gunshot. No one else in the neighborhood heard a gunshot, so what the witness said doesn\u2019t make any sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Anglin<\/strong> said <strong>Trey<\/strong> was with a white female who had picked him up from a house down the street. She was in the car with him when he was shot, and said she and<strong> Trey<\/strong> had been sitting in the driveway since around midnight talking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst of all, none of my neighbors saw a car sitting in the yard, and I was looking out of the window during the time she said they were there, and I didn\u2019t see a car in the driveway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know <strong>Trey<\/strong>, and he never sits in a car with a girl and just talk. That\u2019s just not his way. He\u2019ll either get out of the car, or talk with the door open and a foot outside.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Anglin<\/strong> said the gun found in the car did belong to her son, but he\u2019s right handed, and the gun was found under his left arm and pointed in the wrong direction for someone who had just shot himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have so many questions,\u201d said <strong>Ms. Anglin<\/strong>. \u201cWhy didn\u2019t she try to stop him if he was trying to kill himself? He wasn\u2019t upset or depressed about anything, so he didn\u2019t have a reason for taking his own life. I worried about my son, and I stayed up until he came home. That\u2019s how I know they weren\u2019t in the driveway when she said they were.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Anglin<\/strong> said she believes her son was shot somewhere else and driven back to the house by the girl.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trey Anglin<\/strong> was the father of two girls and talked all the time about returning to school. Family members said he even talked about becoming an attorney, because he was concerned about what was going on around him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anglin<\/strong> has three sisters, and all of them said he was a playful person who loved playing with kids, listening to music, but most of all, he loved to cook. \u201cHe also loved to eat,\u201d said <strong>Ms. Anglin<\/strong>. \u201cWe all looked forward to him cooking breakfast for\u00a0 us, especially after he and his sisters had been out partying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ray Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, and they would appreciate any help they can get from the community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tampa Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man found shot to death early Monday morning.
