A graduate of Harvard University with a degree in Visual and Environmental Studies, she earned her law degree from the Virginia School of Law in 1984, spent 5 years as an active duty Air Force JAG. She retired from the Air Force reserves as a Major in 2005, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.\u00a0 \u00a0She shared with the group her vision for the League.
