However, after serving time for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer (LEO), he was released from Polk Correctional Institute more than 3 years ago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Burney, <\/strong>46, was released to a transitional house under the tutelage of <strong>Clyde Hammond.<\/strong>\u00a0 Through Abe Brown Ministries\u2019 \u2018Ready4Work\u2019 Program (R4W), and instructor, <strong>Mack Brown, Burney <\/strong>learned a lot about being a model citizen and dressing appropriately for different settings. He graduated from the 4-month program.<\/p>\n<p>While he was incarcerated, <strong>Burney <\/strong>learned a lot about the program from <strong>Kyle Dammons, <\/strong>who visited the facility and talked to him about the \u2018Ready4Work\u2019 Program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burney <\/strong>was hired by the Tampa Downtown Partnership, that took a chance on him. <strong>Burney <\/strong>was able to get opportunities while meeting \u201ca lot of high profile people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Then came \u201cAmerica We Clean,\u201d initially named \u201cJamaica Me Clean.\u201d <strong>Burney <\/strong>and his team of 9 employees stay busy. He calls his business the one stop operation. \u201cWe clean offices and homes and take their trash and junk away.\u201d He currently has contracts with: Circle \u2018K\u2019, Main Street Renewal, Zillow, Karisos, Invitation Homes and National Home Rental.<\/p>\n<p>He also operates a rental car business through Turo Platform.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his 9 employees,<strong> Burney <\/strong>also works with 12 independent contractors, and has hired some of the inmates he mentored through the<br \/>\nToastmasters Program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burney<\/strong> and his wife, <strong>Laverne,<\/strong> are parents to 7 children.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about relaxing, <strong>Burney <\/strong>says there is not much time for relaxing, \u201cI just feel good doing the right thing.
