{"id":11831,"date":"2011-12-12T16:33:02","date_gmt":"2011-12-12T21:33:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=11831"},"modified":"2011-12-12T16:33:25","modified_gmt":"2011-12-12T21:33:25","slug":"prosecutors-seek-15-months-in-barry-bonds-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=11831","title":{"rendered":"Prosecutors Seek 15 Months In Barry Bonds Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN FRANCISO &#8212; Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to send former baseball slugger <strong>Barry Bonds<\/strong> to prison.<\/p>\n<p>In court documents filed late Thursday, prosecutors objected to a recommendation by a federal probation officer that <strong>Bonds<\/strong> get only probation when he&#8217;s sentenced for obstruction of justice on Dec. 16.<\/p>\n<p>In the documents, prosecutors asked that <strong>Bonds<\/strong> be sentenced to 15 months in prison.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bonds<\/strong>, 47, was convicted in April of obstructing a grand jury&#8217;s sports doping investigation with an evasive answer.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors dropped three other counts charging <strong>Bonds<\/strong> with making false statements after the jury deadlocked on those charges.
