A second street light and speed tables are designated to be installed before Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>However, the city is still negotiating with the property owner and the installation of sidewalks may take place at the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, <strong>Ms. Monica Alvarez<\/strong> and <strong>Ms. Shanita Little<\/strong> were pushing their 1-year-old daughters in strollers down N. 43rd Street.<\/p>\n<p>They were struck from behind and <strong>Ms. Alvarez<\/strong>, who was pregnant, and her unborn son, <strong>Angel<\/strong>, died. Her daughter, <strong>Imani<\/strong>, remains in a coma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ms. Little<\/strong> and her daughter, <strong>Marquisha<\/strong>, were also injured, but recovered. After the deadly accident, <strong>Ms. Nicole Walker<\/strong>, <strong>Ms. Alvarez\u2019<\/strong> sister, requested better lighting and sidewalks to prevent such a tragedy from happening again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, the first street light was installed on N. 43rd Street.
