The National Save the Family Now Movement, Inc. a coalition of pastors, publishers and community leaders along with the Florida Association of Black Owned Media (FABOM) will host \u201cA National Save the Family Now! March & Rally\u201d Saturday, November 19, 2011, in historic Eatonville, Florida.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the march is to celebrate family and to challenge policies, programs and persons that demean and denigrate the Black family in particular, and all families in general.<\/p>\n

Bobby Henry<\/p><\/div>\n

Additionally, the march will honor community organizations and churches that have developed positive programs for strengthening families. Mr. Bobby R. Henry<\/strong>, of Fort Lauderdale, and president of FABOM stated: \u201cThis is a fine opportunity for our community to come together during this FAMU\/BCU football classic to uplift our families and deal with issues that negatively impact the family.\u201d Henry<\/strong> is also the publisher of the Westside-Gazette.<\/p>\n

The Reverend R. B. Holmes, Jr.<\/strong>, of Tallahassee, president of Region Two of the National Newspapers Publishers Association (NNPA), and president of Live Communications, Inc., and event founder and organizer stated, \u201cThis movement and march is extremely significant to mobilize and motivate our people to stand up against public policies that will diminish social security, mediocrity, voters\u2019 rights and education.\u201d Region Two of the NNPA is comprised of seven states: Atlanta, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia. Rev. Holmes<\/strong> is also pastor of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Tallahassee, FL.<\/p>\n

The march will be held in the historic town of Eatonville, FL.<\/p>\n

Eatonville was the first incorporated African-American community in the nation. Mayor Bruce Mount<\/strong> and Deputy Mayor Eddie Cole<\/strong> are asking everyone to come out and support this family march. \u201cOur families, whether traditional, or non-traditional, are the foundation of our communities. We must do everything we can to reclaim our young people and support their goals and aspirations\u201d said Mayor Mount<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
