{"id":10542,"date":"2011-10-10T16:17:20","date_gmt":"2011-10-10T20:17:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=10542"},"modified":"2011-10-10T16:17:20","modified_gmt":"2011-10-10T20:17:20","slug":"bucs-return-from-west-coast-bruised","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flsentinel.com\/?p=10542","title":{"rendered":"Bucs Return From  West Coast Bruised"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traveled to the west coast to fact the San Francisco 49ers, and came back to Tampa with a 21-0 shutout victory.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, The Bucs not only didn\u2019t come close to that kind of performance, but took several steps back in their progress.<\/p>\n<p>The Bucs were soundly beaten 48-3 by the 49ers, and every phase of their game plan was taken apart by the 49ers.<\/p>\n<p>Buccaneer head coach<strong> Raheem Morris<\/strong>, along with some of his players, had trouble keeping his composure and was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct.<\/p>\n<p>Normally steady quarterback, <strong>Josh Freeman<\/strong>, looked rather shaky, recoding 187 yards on 17 for 33 passing, and adding to his interception total with two more.<\/p>\n<p>The Buc ground game that had began to reveal itself over the past two weeks, was completely shut down with <strong>LeGarrette Blount<\/strong> carrying the ball 10 times for 34 yards. <strong>Blount<\/strong> left the game early with a leg injury, and defensive tackle <strong>Gerald McCoy<\/strong> was also carted off with a serious ankle injury.<\/p>\n<p>The 49ers recorded three sacks while their quarterback, <strong>Alex Smith<\/strong>, was never put on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>The 45-point margin of victory for the 49ers was their largest since a 48-0 win over the Rams in 1997 with Joe Montana at quarterback.<\/p>\n<p>This Sunday, the Bucs will host their division rival, the New Orleans Saints, at Raymond James Stadium.
